Language learning tools and resources

Today’s entry is on the topic of tools and resources that aid us as we attempt to learn a foreign language, because remember: mastering a language requires constant practice!

The tools that I recommend are online resources such as websites and apps designed with the purpose of helping us to master foreign languages.

My suggestion is to have two essential tools at hand. These are:

• an online dictionary

  • recommendation: www.wordreference.com.

• a conjugation website

  • recommendation: conjugator.reverso.net.

Both of these websites are available in app form for iOS and Android.

These will help you to navigate various word definitions, to expand your vocabulary and to verify those all important verb conjugations.

Reverso Conjugator is clearly laid out and also provides audio clips to aid pronunciation.

Similarly Word Reference provides a function that allows users to ‘Listen‘ to the pronunciation of the word in question. Whilst it may lack variety in terms of accents provided. It is a solid resource for standard forms of pronunciation.
